Telemundo 48 KSTS is a full service television station in San Jose, California broadcasting on local digital UHF channel 49 and virtual channel 48. Founded d in 1981, it owned and operated by Telemundo, is an American television network with original programming, including telenovelas and news broadcasts in Spanish. KSTS began operation in 1981 under the ownership of National Group Television. The station offered various types of programming including foreign language shows, religious programming, and programs about technologies, bringing about its slogan, "Your computer connection". KSTS was also the only station to broadcast the introduction of Apple Computer's Macintosh personal computer at Apple's 1984 Annual Shareholders Meeting. In 1984, the station began to program five hours a day of Spanish shows during weekday evenings. By 1986, KSTS was running Spanish programming during half of its on-air time, including the Net Span network which became known as Telemundo in 1987, when Telemundo bought the station, making NBC the owner of KSTS as part of the Telemundo division.
